E27 has started arriving in some shops and webshops consisting of the following: 8283 1/72 Sassanid Light Cavalry 8285 1/72 Sassanid Clibanarii 28307 28mm Nap Brit Light Dragoons 28308 28mm Nap Brit Heavy Dragoons Personally I am still Gutted about the 28mm Nap Brit Dragoons I was hoping they might be 25 or even 26mm in size but, clearly from the pictures on the website below that the are almost head and shoulders bigger than the huge (for 1/72) Zvezda's Saxon Cuirassiers (26mm), meaning the Nap Brit Dragoon figures are definitely for 28mm market. It does not help that they look so good and the horses with their correct horse furniture could have replaced a lot of poor Esci and Italeri British Cavalry horses in my collection. Come on Hat you need to make them in 1/72 Scale. www.facebook.com/DrumandFlag/

Nice to see Hat release some new figures seems to be a long time since the last lot. The Napoleonic dragoons look really nice I think I might buy a box of each even if they are a bit big, on the plus side they will be easier to paint fine detail on hopefully there may be some Prussians soon marching out from the gloom to save us.

Just received the new Sassanid cavalry Not impressed at all! Especially after a ten year wait since they were first announced in December 2007
Two main criticisms :- 1. The sculpting is not sharp and crisp. Lacking in definition. They look as iif the mould is reaching the end of its natural life after a mega run 2. This is more serious as no amount of diligent painting can overcome this. They are just far too small. Compare with your Late Roman cavalry in size - which were a high water mark of your production Clibanari were seriously big armoured horseman not midgets! I have bought circa 200 boxes of Hat products over the years and this is my first ever complaint....Tony

Sassanid Clibanarii and Late Roman for comparison on size. The Roman is certainly on good army rations!

I can not understand why Hat did not re-release their Sassanid Persian Infantry at the same time as these cavalry sets. For those that already bought the infantry years ago and were just waiting for this cavalry, that look smaller just because they are still so far away, then fine. But for people that see these for the first time then the infantry should have also been made available. On the same theme then also their Roman opponents should be available.
Best regards,
Malcolm

The probable reason is that everyone wants every out of stock set to reappear yesterday. The aim has to be to try to please the majority which unfortunately means the minority will be disappointed. As has been said many times, you can't please all of the people all of the time. Now where are all those Austrians and Prussians
