I have just returned to Napoleonic wargaming after some 40 years absence and need to know if any infantry regiments fought at Waterloo in Stovepipe hats rather than the Belgic shako. I have been unable to find any information on this question other than the Stovepipe hat was replaced in 1812 but some regiments continued to wear it after this date.
Thanks in anticipation of any help that can be given.

Without checking any of my reference books, I believe the 28th (Gloucestershire) Regt and the Hanoverian regiments still wore the stovepipe shake in the Waterloo campaign.

Yes, according to Haythornethwaite's "Uniforms of Waterloo" the 28th Infantry (1st battalion) retained the stovepipe shako. Stovepipes were also worn by: The Light Infantry regiments, the 51st, 52nd and 71st (highland dicing on the 71st's shako). The 95th Rifles (1st & 2nd battalions + 2 co.s of 3rd). The 1st & 2nd Light Battalions of the Kings German Legion (rifles style uniforms). The Hanoverian Light Battalions, Luneburg and Grubenhagen (the Grubenhagen Battalion had a peakles conical shako). And, the Hanoverian Landwehr Battalions, Bremervorde, Osnabruk, Quckenbruk, Salzgitter, Nienburg, Hoya, Bentheim, Hameln, Gifhorn, Hildesheim, Peine, Verden, Luneburg, Osterode, and Munden. If you haven't seen this already heres a good online source for Waterloo. For uniforms click on Unites/Nations and then chose from the sub menu at top left: centjours.mont-saint-jean.com/

Thanks for all the information you have given me. I am grateful for the help and will be doing the 52nd Regiment (Oxfordshire light) in Stovepipe hats. I have already started the 28th Regiment (North Gloucestershire) but in Belgic Shako's. I live in Gloucester so I will go to the Regimental Museum and see if I can confirm one way or the other if they wore Stovepipe hats or Belgic shako's. If it is Stovepipes I will have to start again!
Graeme - thank you also for the link - I have had a quick look and will be adding the site to my favourites for future reference.
