Dear Steve,
I thank you a lot for appreciating my work. I'm in the process of finishing my Swarzenberg's army at the battle of Dosen-Dolitz. I've got to prepare six battalions of Autro-Ungarians with shako. The big problem is finding an acceptable set in scale 1:72
Greetings. Giovanni.

Hi gbvarese
Yes there is a shortage of good Austrian sets most of the best sets are made by hat & seem to be unavailable I am hoping another manufacturer beginning with S might soon make a couple of sets in marching & advance poses in the near future & we may well seethe mooted Hat set on crowd funding one day.

Dear forumers,
I painted my Austrians some years ago. At that time I did not use yet the current available shadowing products (i.e. those of Citadel) Therefore I simply shadowed the figures with a colour darker and duly diluted, than the background one. For highlighting details, I used the normal dry brush procedure. To give the figures a more natural pose, I gently twisted the heads of two artilleryman: the one with the ramrod and the other igniting the gun powder.
With regards to the Austro-Hungarians, I've already sustained a crowd fundining initiative to promote such a new set, which (as it is for Set 8280 7YW Prussian infantry marching) could give the customer the option to choose between leather helmets or shakos
Let's insist with Hat all togheter; may be in the long run we'll obtain the desired result.
Greetings Giovanni
