I've just started on my first cohort & decided, as they are modelled a little flat, to use the hot water & suds I always wash new figures with, to bend the shields to cover the body.
The figures come out of the hot water in a very pliable state. Bending the shields is simple & a splash of cold water locks the shields in their new position. The figures then revert to their fairly heavy, dense plastic.
At any rate, it's amazing. I'm assuming it'll hold paint as well as HaT figures usually do. I'm looking forward to the job.

Caution Donald, don't be too quick to start painting. Alan reported that the plastic has a memory and reverts back to it's original shape and I found the same thing. You can see the thread we discussed this on in the link below. As I said when I bent them again they did stay in place better (and still haven't straitened too much after this amount of time). But after bending with the hot water I recomend making a cut part way through the arm and filling the gap, this seems to hold thgem in place quite admirably. hat.freeforums.net/thread/51/unmarried-zulu-test-sprues?page=4

No problems with bending. They stay as bent. I've undercoated and painted 9 figures so far & am happy with the result.
