Just a quick question for you guys to discuss.
I was thinking about HaT's usual production and release methods and one thing just doesn't make sense to me.
Considering that HaT makes large master models and takes scans of them and creates the moulds from those scans, I wonder would it not be better that they use the development time to work on developing moulds for all of the scales they produce (1/72, 1/32 And 1/56 (or 28mm if you prefer)) instead of focusing on several different box sets at a time?
I only say this as the British Dragoons were already developed for 28mm and are now being made into 1/72, and probably will be moved onto 1/32 sometime after that. To me, it would have made more sense to work on all three scales at the same time, that way they would have all of the moulds ready to go when they are needed again, instead of waiting several years to go through the same process three separate times.
So, I just want to know if you think it would be a good idea if HaT were to have fewer box sets in development at one time, but those sets are being developed in all scales, or should they continue as they do now developing up to 6 unique box sets at a time in a single scale at a time?
Additional question, if you had to say what box set from any of the current box sets they have released, would you like to see scaled up or down?
For example, I would love to see the Wurttemberg Infantry scaled to 28mm, but spread out into the M.A.C box sets. I would also love to see the SYW Prussians, and future Austrians, scaled to 28mm as well.

My completely selfish answer is no that wouldn't work for me because I only collect 1/72. The current policy of producing mostly 1/72 sets is good for me. But I am trying to disabuse myself of the notion that "me" means "everyone"
At the moment HaT is working through a backlog of sets waiting to be produced, I think those sets are mostly 1/72 because historically HaT is a 1/72 producer that just branched out into the other scales and polls on the old forum showed that 1/72 is the bulk of their current market. The British Dragoons weren't actually developed for 28mm; they were developed for 1/72 but a mix up at the factory meant they were made too large so they were sold as 28mm.
HaT's current production serves their current market. Of course they need to think about future markets, and the questions currently being asked on the forum show that HaT is trying to gauge the level of interest in 1/32 and 28mm. If there are hundreds of guys reading this who want more 1/32 and 28mm sets from HaT I think that NOW is the time to tell them. If there are enough of you making enough noise you will likely get the attention.
The figures I'd like to see scaled down to 1/72 are the officer in the 1/32 Elites in Greatcoats Command set, fabulous figure!. And also the 1/32 Celts.

To add to what Joe said, the problem with your idea is the fact that you have one hundred (just a generic figure drawn out of air for those pedantic people) different folks out here each demanding ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO HAVE. YESTERDAY! If HaT was to delay ANY of those sets to concentrate on ONE (or even two) sets - the hue and cry would be loud, long, and raucous. As Joe said, HaT has been primarily a 1/72 scale producer; they have stuck their toe into the waters of other scales at times. It is my hope they won't stop those efforts, even if I'm not and have no plans to ever go into 28mm; but one cannot blame them if they major on where they've made their name and built their business.

Good point you raise Joe! And yes I do agree! All the sets that are being made, I would love to see them in 1/32 scale, but doubt if they will make the dragoons into that size. I do agree that to me it seems less afford to do them all at the same time instead of letting the years pass. But I don't know how HaT works behind the scenes so it is hard for me to form a good opinion about it.
