It's funny to thing that we have so many options of french infantry in 1/72, but there is still a slot missing, and a big one. One of the most popular uniforms for french infantry among enthusiasts is the 1807-1812 (pre-bardin) line infantry in gaiters. In my opinion, and in the opinion of many, this is the best look for french infantry of the period, and we simply don't have quality options for these in 1/72. These guys: Italeri has the 6002 set which is a poor attempt at this - the uniform is very flawed, and though they claim it to be 1815 infantry, it's actually closer to the pre-bardin.
There are a few other choices of pre-bardin in shakos, from Hat, HaT and Ehmar, but they wear breeches over gaiters, and quite often, these sets are poorly sculpted.
A new company (from Russia) that deals in 28mm has recently addressed the subject, and the quality of their work really let show how gorgeous french infantry look in this uniform: I'm pretty sure Hat could do an amazing job at this subject also, with nice proportions, like we've seen in recent sets, such as the magnific prussian infantry, and the accuracy that lacks in the Italeri set (single brest belts for fusiliers, long tails, sabre-briquet differentiated between fusiliers and elites, etc.) This could be done in the MAC format, as well, with plenty of room for drummers, fifers, mounted officers, color bearers, grenadiers in bearskins, etc. Beautiful french line infantry in gaiters is long overdue in our scale, people! Who's with me?

I would prefer a command set to go with set 8294.

You are so right Mateus. There is a big hole in the range of Napoleonic infantry figures in 1/72, and HaT set 8095 only fills this hole if you are a fan of the chunky and somewhat 'too big' style of that set, the figures of which do not mix well with other French infantry figures currently available. Set 8095 models troops in trousers rather than breeches and gaiters also, of course.
I'd say there is now an ideal opportunity for HaT to produce a 100 figure set of 1808-1812 infantry in breeches and gaiters, and with a sculpting style similar to, say, their Nassau infantry set.
