Usually this period doesn't really grab me but these are spectacular. The painting is absolutely exquisite and I think you've breathed both life and interest into the figures..
I really like the way you've done the hide shields, very realistic. And I see what you mean about modifying the bottom figure, that is a big improvement.
Your Cannes entry gets my vote for the Palme d'Or.
