Naval Gardner gun and RA field gun: Part of a Sudan force for Hordes of the Things. Left shiny as I like the 'toy soldier' lok for these.

Cheers. Thought I was finished as I've got infantry from elsewhere. Just recently found out however that the Camel Corps had been re-released, so got a couple of boxes of them still to do!

Do you do mounted and dismounted elements for the Camel Corps?
One of my favourite aspects of Colonial warfare is that most mounted units can choose to dismount to fight, then re-mount & ride to safety if charged by the natives.
This has proved a game winner, particularly in our AZW games though less so in the Sudan, mainly because The Mahdists have more firearms.
I look forward to more photos of your Camel Corps figures.

Probably both. The difficulty is that using HOTT as I intended, the rules don't cater for what are essentially mounted infantry. A house rule classing them as rider/shooters would do. Same problewm with the Gardner gun as MGs aren't covered, again a house rule classing it as a shooter will do. Performance wise I don't think the weapon was that far beyond an infantry platoon. It could be some time before the Corps appears as they are a late addition, so far down in the queue

Cheers Steve. Can't have the navy getting homesick (or is that seasick?)

Indeed the toy-soldier look makes them look fantastic.
I'd never thought of doing this in 1/72.

Thanks gents. I've got the Mahdist opposition lying around somewhere, not sure about shiny for them; do some of both perhaps see what shakes out.
