I would go along with this. Looking at HaTs latest products there has been a lack of WW2 subjects over the last few years with an emphasis of on the Napoleonic period. As 'The World at War' from IBG has produced both A9 and A10 Early WW2 British tanks. Its time to get the BEF and US GI figures rolling. It always amazes me that major players like early BEF are not already available in plastic. Yes there are the Zvevda 4 man sets (a bit on the tall side for me!)but that is it. Likewise, WW2 French forces are grossly under represented and the Caesar miniature and Pegasus rare as hens teeth. I wouldn't really call the BEF a "major player"...

I would like to add my humble +1 for this topic too...I would be really happy if we got new WW2 HaT sets this year, the US GIs and the BEF would be very welcomed.

Thanks for the reply. I hope they will be released this or next year along with the WW2 BEF and US rifle squad, the only things missing from my Russian and German armies are cavalry.

Hello,
Any news about the long proposed WW1 cavalry sets?

Also, would you consider making a heavy weapons set to go with them too? Bazooka with loader, .30cal MMG, 60mm mortar, possibly a sniper...

Ammo bearer and prone riflemen would be nice, pistol toting officers, while a nice bonus, not exactly needed...maybe in more relaxed poses, hands on hips, or holding a binoculator would work better.

Look good, and I hope this means they will be released soon.
I can only echo the comments to add a rifle to the grenade thrower, plus there's always space for a carbine NCO pose...or maybe a figure with a pointing hand, and the other as a separate piece with a carbine, Thompson or pistol in hand, that would be radical.

My only comment is, when they will be available? I want a box or two

Too big. Height difference, while real, does not look good in miniatures, just take a look at the Emhar WW1 Brits, heights all over the place.
Make them the same size as the rest, stop scale creeping, else it'll be another Peninsular Dragoons incident.

What about a loader for the MG? Otherwise they look mighty fine, looking forward to them.

Usually I paint n different armies, because I don't play too much, and just do what I fancy. In case I play, for example a Napoleonics game, I paint those figures before, and if any left, after too so next time I can field a completely painted army.
But in short: WW2 Finns, Brits, 'mericans (15mm), Sikhs, Winter Germans, Colonial Scots, in 28mm some old Warzone stuff, SW: Legion...

I can only hope HaT will fill some plugs - late Germans, late Brits, late French, late French heavy weapons, early British and German heavy weapons...I mentioned this on the old forum, but these lines with gigantic holes in them, then moving to new periods is not exactly the best practice. We got two lovely late WW2 heavy weapon sets for the Brits, and what's next? BEF. Meh.

Well, I have a feeling this won't bother me too much, and will be happy with a different number of spokes on the wheel

What was the difference? They sell it with both the "modern" wheel for WW2 and the wooden wheels. If there's no better option, I'd settle for them happily, since they are pretty fairly priced for what I want them for. edit: thanks for the links, saw the edit after I've quoted

After reading the PSR review for it, and looking at the figures, I've decided I like them, and I got the early infantry box some weeks ago, but...where the hell do we get cannons from? I won't buy the late kit (which I need for a late army) just to discard the crew, and what exactly should I do with all the mounted minis?
Another issue with the WW2 French arty - one wheel per sprue means enough wheels for only two guns. I feel like buying metals would be a feasible and cheaper option seeing how I should pay only one postage for cannon and crew.
Grumbling over.

The newer ancient sets like Carthaginian Veterans, the light-medium-heavy Gauls you asked us to vote for, Celtic Chariots.

I'm cautiously optimistic - please get it right HaT, these figures are the only ones I need for my Peninsular British army.

I would kinda like to see most of these...but if I had to choose: - Gaul light/medium/heavy infantry - with all due respect, the infantry of yours was somewhat weak. The cavalry was better, and I like the chariots. Nobody released Gauls for some time now, and it would be really welcomed. - Sassanid Cataphracts and Elephants - although a Sassanid army is not planned, completing a range is encouraged by me. And maybe I'd pick up and make an army for Impetvs... - Spartan#2 - yes please, specific Greek hoplites are welcomed, engraved shields are cool as long as you can make a coherent group with them. - Slingers: a dedicated set of ancient slingers is a nice idea as many folks used them. Wonder what's the actual concept. - Carthaginian Sacred Band: your recent Ancients look much much better than the old ones. I'd welcome any new stuff. Although for the sake of dynamic poses, please, use separate shields. This goes for the other shield using sets too. Somewhat hard to build a convincing shieldwall where everyone's keeping their shields away from their body and open up widely. - Hoplites: same remarks as with the Gauls and Spartans.
- Napoleonic Austrians: I'm Hungarian, so naturally I'd like to see some Austrians. If they are the later type, they could be easily used for the Revolution of 1848-49.
- WW1 anything: well, it's the centenary of the end of the war, manufacturers did not really take the effort to release stuff - seems like it's changing now, which is cool. I'd buy any and all of these.
- any WW2 sets: hey, they are not Germans! Not much non-German releases we see nowadays, except for one manufacturer. BEF infantry would be really welcomed as besides Zvezda nobody makes them in plastic (but they do some really really nice support weapons, so with only the infantry, a nice army could be put together). Italian arty is again something that would be welcomed, and the US rifle squad looks really cool based on the greens. Heck, release the BEF and the Italian arty in 28mm as well, there would be a big market for them!

2 months since the last update on the official secret page.
Any news? After the blunder with the British Dragoons, I'm less and less enthusiastic about this whole affair.

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I KNEW WE'LL NEVER GET PENINSULAR DRAGOONS FROM HAT! I called it, I saw it in the "next release" bunch, and said we'll never get them! I was bloody correct - and would be bloody happy about it, if I didn't wanted them.
But oh well, I'm happy I loaded up on early Prussian cavalrymen and Scots Greys so I can convert them for myself. Somehow I'll do the tarletons too for the light cavalry as well.
Highly disappointed. 10 years of promises, listing as the next release for more than a year I think, then this blunder. I appreciated what you've done for the hobby, but oh how the mighty have fallen.
