Seems like a lot of ancient sets are not re-stocked, some of the Republican Romans and Carthage sets sorely need to be re-stocked, what about set 8212 Carthaginian Veterans for example? Hard to find in 1/72. To add to this, doesn't look like the upcoming elephant sets are being prioritized. So to answer my own question, yes we are snubbed.

This is really beautiful work! Do you mind my asking where the fields of long grass come from? It's a teddy fur mat from a private seller in the U.S, expensive but well worth it!

The upside of these (and any other ACW set for that matter) is that these models don't just have to be for this war in particular. The union uniform in specific is extremely close to the Danish army of the period for their war against Prussia in the Second Schleswig War (though Winter coat wearing ones would probably be better to hide the inaccuracies that there are) Granted it is a very obscure war to bring up, but I'm just saying that the set can have more than one use. That and I recently watched the 1864 tv show and i highly recommend others to give it a watch. The battle it revolves around (the Battle of Dybbøl) is very well done. The only issue with the conversion is that there aren't any good Prussian Infantry sets for the same period, which is a shame. The visor on the kepi was somewhat different for Danes though but in this scale it probably won't matter, also for Dybbøl greatcoats is more appropriate. There is a good Prussian infantry set from Emhar however as you point out it's not suitable for wars with Denmark.

Okay so I'm the first to comment. What to say. Two things, the unpainted prototypes looked so promising, painted they look absolutely stunning. Basically we will have Perry 28mm quality in 1/72. So the shoulder insignias on the Confederate officer is unfortunate, but it can be trimmed off. The only negative thing I can think of is the time we have to wait to paint these (see profile pic for my feelings on this). Finally, Marcin has really done a superb job here, congrats to Marcin and HaT!

I don't think ACTA is active anymore, maybe Caesar, they do different periods, seems like HaT is busy elsewhere. We don't know Revell's stance on the 30YW sets, sadly they don't have they same communication with their customers like HaT do, I'd say that is typical of the big companies but Italeri at least answers when you ask them.

Revell's artillery set is actually still available, if you want to support piracy that is, since Mars "re-released" it a few years ago in two separate sets. But tbh that set wasn't that good and I'd welcome brand new artillery crews, the cavalry are also still available in two sets from Mars and they are terrific.

Nothing, not a fan of the set, planned to buy it but had a look at it at PSR, don't know what the fuzz is about, not the best sculpts in any way though you get an army which I suspect is appealing to some. The Peninsular British I get, they're fantastic, own that one.

Yes, pikemen with ring hands made in 24mm to match the Revell figs, who knows Revell have been re-issuing some of their Napoleonic stuff so why not 30YW? The Zvezda set had great sculpts but too big and no one wants to glue small 1/72 parts together, I say HaT should go in here and allow us to build those big big pike blocks.

Quite some list, I guess it will take years to release them. High on priority should be the ACW wagon and AWI sets, some of the Ancients seems interesting also.

I agree about additional hat for the Confederates, we should at least have a straw hat, and bowler hat, or even stetson type hat.
In a perfect world we would see a separate frock coat set. I'm not that huge fan of the frock coat, but nevertheless the US marine battalion wore it, Confederate marines used it, NCOs used it, was common early in the war, but I suspect the market isn't that huge. Also agree about shell jacket and rolled blanket.

A bold question for Hat/Admin, can we expect these ACW figures before the year's end?

As much as I like customer interaction and influence over what is produced I'd say to HäT to release them the way you want, I think everyone stands behind Neilads suggestion, use it, we're tired of waiting, and need those figs in any way they come. That "other company" made a huge mistake by making frock coats the standard, but for me it didn't matter as the figures were so poorly done they were unusable anyway, but these HaT marchers seems so much better.

Why not a 96 figure set just called ACW marching? Have all different types, rolled blanket with sack coat and so on, considering how popular the period is many would buy it. Isn't more work with all these smaller sets..
