One of the guys on another forum has commented that as a collector, he likes to buy each new box that comes out but that he has missed a couple of HaT's new comedy/parody style box art sets because they are not published on the HaT site.
Would it be possible to post pictures of the new re-stock boxes for the benefit of collectors? I'm not a box collector myself but I enjoy seeing these new art works, they're fun and I get a laugh from them. And, just occasionally, there's one that I'd like to buy just to get the box.

Dear Graeme, I agree wholeheartedly. The limited box art was great fun (and I bought a few 'non-essential' as I wanted to have a copy of the artwork for my scrap books of flattened and cut boxes—plus the figures are always useful!). It would be lovely to have a record of them in one place. Meanwhile, you can find them in various places on Hat's website: www.hat.com/Curr3/Bx8300NS/A1013.htmlhat.com/Curr2/Bx8248EC/Bx8339MCS.htmlhat.com/Curr2/Bx8110GH.htmlIf interested, I did a post with the Napoleonic ones, my photos though, so not as good as Hat's versions of the original files (https://chauvinisticblog.blogspot.com/2019/10/reinforcements-bring-limited-artwork.html). Regards, James

Thanks James I might have missed that 2019 release notice on the homepage, I usually come here via a direct link to the forum, there's a couple of things on there that I didn't know about until I saw them on Drum & Flag. The poster on the other site I mentioned (Jan at Benno's) said he came across these two by accident but had not seen them on the HaT site: I have to say, I really like the 'Banksy' Almoravid.

Dear Graeme,
Thanks in return!
Those two are great fun and I had not seen them before either. I wonder then how many there are? I await a reply from Hat to your question, which I assume/hope will be coming, along with a posting of the full 'set' of special artwork.
Regards, James

Congratulations, you appear to have got all the parody boxes which were sold in 2 releases. The only ones not shown are the ACW Sampler set and the Nap. British Dragoons Sampler set.
The idea had germinated for a long time with the Picasso box and finally made it into production after a burst of energy and enthusiasm. Unfortunately the response to the parody boxes was decidedly mixed so the series was not continued. The last box on the drawing board was the WWI Italian sampler box which featured Giuseppe Travolta in a New York discotheque. This was scrapped in favor of a more traditional cover. But fear not, ex HaT semper aliquid novi.

I am so glad someone is showing appreciation for the comic box art. Sometimes we get so far involved in the "technicals" of our hobby - the research, historicity, and details we can forget the "fun" a hobby is supposed to be. As one who grew up with toy soldiers bought in bags at what we used to call "Dime Stores" sometimes I need to be reminded of what it was like to be a boy playing with his toy soldiers on my bedroom floor or in the yard. As a now-departed friend had a motto - "Get 'em in the dirt!"
I had to stop collecting boxes awhile back. I ran out of room. But I still enjoy the art. Those boxes brought a smile to my face. I think in these times we all need a smile.
