Lovely! It seems the rumors of HaT's death have been greatly exaggerated... Hooray!!!

I had wondered for a while why I hadn't heard much about them lately, but its good to see they are still chugging along.

Looks great!! Assuming timing is still a little way off. Would be great if these were an early 2024 addition to get the new year rolling.

Dear Hat, It seems that someone in Hat was sick and tired of listening to my annoying and boring repeted requestes and appeals : a long awaited dream set is about to become reality. Thank a lot from the deep of my hart. Gio.

Cant wait for these to be released, need Hungarians for my 1809 Austrian army. Will they be in MAC format? If its not too late, the Officer’s footwear needs to be corrected. Hungarian infantry officers did not wear the trousers and ankle boots of the other ranks but breeches and knee high boots, often cut like hussar boots. As currently shown, the officer in this set is incorrect.

Size testing:

Initial reaction is that they are slightly big, their bases are definitely thinner in height yet figures still sit the same height as the others on thicker bases and appear to me to have a slight more heft. That said muskets appear similar in height but I think a smaller reduction in size is needed. 3-5% would be my guess. Looking good though.

Thanks for the comments. The bases are thinner, these are prints. We will make sure to ask the mold maker to make the bases the same size. The figures are also slightly bulkier. We actually prefer them this way because the previous set of Austrian Infantry were a little bit too slim for our liking. We're getting the photographer to take some better pictures.

Dear All and Admn.
These Auatro Hungarians seem wonderful!!!. They fill a gap in the Austrian Napoleonic sets, which will finally allow all of us, enthusists of this historical period, to complete our armies.
Thanks a lot.
Gio.

Really pleased to see the Hungarians making progress However please don't make them taller than the Austrians they should be the same height and also please don't make them bulkier, the closest match possible please, half mm smaller would be fine but not taller or bulkier. 1/72 figures should be anatomically proportionally correct meaning they should look like miniature human beings as apposed to 28mm figures that have a tendency to have exaggerated features such as bulkier bodies with big heads and hands. Thanks for sharing images and progress very much appreciated. Brian

To be fair, it's mostly Games Workshop that oversizes their minis. The vast majority of 28mm minis are proportionally correct, if they are made in plastic. Metal minis are wholly at the skill of the sculptor and there is very little you can do about that, but most are generally good. That being said, I've never known Hat to do anything like that, so I feel your concerns are misplaced.

Hi Hat Design Team,
Your Hungarians are looking fantastic with paint on (good work Borodino).
Could you please make some more size comparisons particularly with the HaT Austrians (sets 8326,8327,8328) and if possible with any of the following Hat Austrian sets Landwehr 8233, Grenzers 8204, Grenadiers 8198 and Line Infantry 8027.
I think it's important that the Hungarians fit in with the existing Hat sets in term of size and bulk.
Thanks Brian

Mr Borodino has excelled with his great painting and and excellent comparisons. The Austrians and the new Hungarians are a little taller than Hats older sets of figures, it would have been nice if the Hungarians were 1mm shorter to better match those older figures whilst still fitting in with the new Austrians and I hope you have resisted the temptation to make them bulkier as the shako heads possibly look big (this would be good for 28mm scale but not for 1/72 scale). Are you planning to make a separate command set or perhaps you could add the four of the different command poses to the Marching and Action sprues two poses to each set and any extra heads you can fit on the sprue would be appreciated. Despite my concerns I still think they will turn out to be a great set and the first Napoleonic Hungarians made by anybody.
