Did I mention:
In which we Serve (1942), the life and death of a Destroyer its crew and their familys....
Lion of the Desert, IMBD gives this a rating of 8.4 which definatly puts it among the greats, but difficult to find a good copy if there is such a thing on CD...
March or Die, seems like fiction and indeed it is, but still has a lot of truth in it.... worth a look...
Zeppelin.... been trying to get this too no avail, good for its time, and of course it features a Zeppelin... sort of a WW1 "The Eagle has Landed"...
Dogs... No not of War..
Gunbus, saw this on the Cinema many moons ago, a sort of Dick Dastardly comedy romp that has some aircraft otherwise unusual for WW1 inspired movies, a Pusher the Vickers FB5 Gunbus and a Salmson 2 A.2, special effects are basic for the era....
Von Richthofen and Brown, same Aircraft as the Blue Max but thats about it.....
Grumble replies (the quote thingy didn't work right):
*Lion of the Desert* is hard to see because it's almost impossible to get -- at least in the USA -- because it was produced by Libya in 1981 when Qaddafi was dictator.
Also, did anyone mention *The Eagle Has Landed*?
For me, *Lawrence of Arabia* sets the (high) standard for everything else.
