Next week will be 10 years since the 1st appearance of the Austrian Napoleonic infantry masters and we’re still waiting for the figures... The sets are supposed to be completed or close to completion.

Hopefully we will see a few new sets maybe in time for Christmas, considering another company is releasing twenty new sets before Christmas it could indeed be a happy new year.

The sets are supposed to be completed or close to completion. Hi, I feel so relieved to see the Austrian infantry coming before the dragoons we financed a year ago. Sorry, I have a bad day. Probably the yellow best blood running in my DNA. I promise I stop complaining now. Have a great weekend everyone. CPN

Hello! The Austrian infantry is not coming before the dragoons. There are no test shots of the Austrian infantry seen yet and it is not known if they need any revisions.

Admin, is it possible to give a list of what is actually in progress and what the order of expectancy is? I'm not asking for time scales for each set, just an understanding as to which sets are furthest developed and closest to release. From what I can remember there are ACW sets, British Nap cavalry, Nap Austrians, masters of AWI sets, BEF figures being discussed and I've probably missed others...Thanks!

The sets which are in progress are the 1/72 British Dragoons, ACW, Nap. Austrians in that order. Less further along are Nap. Hungarians and Prussian wagons.
In 1/32: they are the 7YW Austrians, less further along are the Nap. Austrians.

Cheers Apologies; apparently I failed “reading to the end”. Cheers

Any chance of getting back to the subject in hand - WW2 BEF - rather than it being hijacked by the Austrian Napoleonic group?
Any more information about the BEF set?

Future projects will be considered once the current projects are completed.

I am sure I am not the only person who would find some information useful. The last comment from the Forum Admin of "Future projects will be considered once the current projects are completed." does not really impart much at all. Would it be possible to be a little more informative please ?

I don't think anybody at hat really knows when new sets are going to be released, the most recent releases have usually been announced by people on this forum who have seen them on sale somewhere. To be honest I have bought a lot of sets from the competition recently & I have loads to paint so it suits me to wait a bit to save up.

Taking a long view, hunkering down and enjoying the stash of figures that you may have collected to date seems to be part of this hobby. It's worth reminding ourselves of the trends in new figures set production and the best summary I know of is the PSR annual review at www.plasticsoldierreview.com/ShowFeature.aspx?id=27 Yes, it would be good to see some of the sets from HaT that have been on the stocks for a long time, not least the crowd-funded British dragoons that some took a stake in a long time ago with no worthwhile product to show in return, yet. But these things take time and for one I would not need to paint any new HaT figure for another 5 years such is the backlog of sets - many from other manufacturers - that I have built up in recent years.

Will these guys ever be released? The suggested additions (Officers, prone rifleman) look really good!

In fact the Red Army did "hold back" on allocating SMGs to the infantry initially. Stalin was concerned that widespread issuance of SMGs would lead to a "waste" of ammo. Later on, that was forgotten, and it was all-out SMGs and LMGs to anything that walked. Except the penal battalions, they got rifles. And maybe bullets. I have to observe that there is something very 'British' about the slightly reserved way that automatic weapons appear to have been allocated to 'ordinary' British (and probably also Commonwealth) infantry in WW2. Can you imagine the Red Army or later German army 'holding back a bit' on allocating infantry firepower at squad level? It's a bit along the lines of "well, the Lee Enfield and the Lewis gun served us well enough in 1917/18, so why not the Lee Enfield and Bren gun (and little else in terms of infantry squad firepower) in 1939-45?".

I know that you are busy with the forthcoming releases but is there any news about the BEF set it seems to have been forgotten. Please could you give any news even if the project has been cancelled thanks in advance.

Would it be possible to be a little more informative please ? Hello! Sorry for missing this question earlier. Yes, it means the project teams would like to give their undivided attention to finishing their current project(s) before thinking about the next one. However I think now is the time to make some noise for the next sets you would like to see because it seems like team #2 is about to have some slots opening up.

For me, late war Napoleonic French Dragoons and Chasseurs a Cheval in Bardin jackets. One figure per sprue in epaulettes to represent the elite companies would be a great idea.

Considering masters were presented on the old forum/site too long ago for me to even remember when I opt for:
1) Pommeranian Piccolo Players 2) Bavarian Bassoonists 3) Viennese Violinists 4) Tyrolean Trombonists 5) Assorted Camp Followers and women of loose virtue.
All Napoleonic Era.
