My vote goes to British peninsular infantry set as it supplies a full army in box & it paints up well with some great poses & add the British command set to achieve Peninsular perfection. Close behind would be the Nassau infantry set for much the same reasons shame there's no Nassau command set though.

Those have to go near the top of my list, too - but there are a number of other sets, really too many to name just one.

My Favorites are as follows Cavalry - 8013 - French Horse Grenadiers Infantry - 8219 - French Light Infantry Chasseurs (Marching) Artillery - 8232 - Württemberg Artillery I also like the Nassau set, 1805 French in greatcoats and also all of the the very useful command sets

Zulu war british command set. A great choice of poses and with a very good extra set of arms/equipment to make the set go even further. I'm not sure I can think of any other of their command sets that give as many different combinations as this set.

I would say the 8293 WWI British Khaki Drill. Since the early 1970's, when I read A.J. Barker's book on the Mesopotamian Campaign of 1914-1918 (in the US titled *The B@stard War* and in the UK titled *The Neglected War*) I have wanted a set of Tommies in shorts, puttees and sun helmets, like the ones pictured on the dust jacket of the US 1967 edition. Finally have them!
A close second would be the 8070 WWI Ottoman Inf, which has similarly been on my wish list for that long. Although PSR did not like the limited number of poses (8), this set is supplemented by 8094 WWI Ottoman Artillery and Machine guns and 8274 WWI Turkish Cavalry. And now another company is making other sets for this theater.
I tried over the years to convert other figures to make Tommies and Turks, but nothing worked for me. And until recently nobody else made anything like these. And no one else has yet made a better set of either one.

French light infantry chasseurs marching : The sculpture is excellent, the size of the figurines exactly matches my expectations and it is surely the best value for money that exists to build an entire battalion.

I split my vote between the El Cid Almoravids and Andalusians. Excellent poses, you could mix them together for larger, more diverse units, and they were easy to convert into different poses. Another close second would be the Late Roman sets that were in the softer plastic. The Medium infantry, Missile troops, Light cavalry and Medium cavalry were, again, easy to convert, and had some interesting poses.

New Austrian Seven Years War sets in 1/32. Because, New, Austrian, SYW, 1/32. And the Prussians need someone to glower at in the display case.

I split my vote between the El Cid Almoravids and Andalusians. In actuality, I may need to change my preference for favorite set(s) in the near future. I've arranged with my supplier (Gary of Army Group Center Wargaming) to purchase all of the El Cid/Moorish Spain sets at Historicon next month. So they may become my new favorite set of sets.

Infantry: Napoleonic Prussian Infantry (Action). Why? they are just fabulously sculpted figures, I rate them nearly perfect because logic dictates there must be a fault with them; I haven't found it yet.
The Peninsular Brits, Nassau infantry, Belgian infantry and Prussian Landwehr are also very good.
Cavalry: French Horse Grenadiers, I like how they really look like big men on big horses. And the Celtic Cavalry, Dynamic and authentic looking with no excursions into fantasy land.
Perhaps my all time favourite set is the old Airfix ancient Britons. I think all of the figures I have at present came in HaT boxes.

At Historicon I did indeed acquire all of the HäT El Cid sets from Gary at Army Group Center Wargaming:
8168 El Cid Andalusian Infantry
8176 El Cid Spanish Infantry
8189 El Cid Almoravid Infantry
8201 El Cid Spanish Light Cavalry
8213 El Cid Spanish Heavy Cavalry
8214 El Cid Andalusian Light Cavalry
8215 El Cid Andalusian Heavy Cavalry
8246 El Cid Almoravid Light Cavalry
8247 El Cid Almoravid Heavy Cavalry
8248 El Cid Spanish Command
8249 El Cid Moorish Command
Gary told me that a couple of these sets are out of production, so I feel very fortunate that when I finally -- after all these years -- decided to take the plunge, he had all of them in stock. I was also happy because I was able to pay about half of the cost with vouchers that I received as a volunteer at Historicon.
Today I took these to lunch with a friend and we spent a happy time, after we ate, going through each box and once again admiring the quality of these figures. I'm looking forward to painting them. Some of the people that played in the games that I had put on at Historicon 2019 asked me what games I plan to run at Historicon 2020. Wow! That's thinking ahead. I told them that just possibly one of the games will involve these El Cid figures. Who knows? I haven't even decided what games I'm running for Fall-In! 2019.
But rest assured the games will involve many figures from HäT, as did the two games I put on this month -- WW1 East Africa and WW1 Mesopotamia.

For me the best sets are Napoleonic Prussians with superb sculpting and molds quality. I like poses of soldiers in Action set and how nicely parts fit together (especially backpacks). Another excellent set is Napoleonic Bavarian in Action. Nearly same quality as Prussians.

Hey guys, I posted some pics of the conversions I have made to the Almoravids and Andalusians, infantry and cavalry. Some are little more than weapon swaps but some I got inventive on. I saw Grumble's post from earlier and I will say enjoy bud. I have had a lot of fun with those figures over the years. I will be posting more as the weeks progress and this heat wave continues. Way too hot in the Old North State.

Hi, I like the British marines very much . Not a single useless pose. I agree it is a small set but sometimes even the easiest things are missed by manufacturers. Cheers. CPN

Ole Ben, I don't see the postings of the photos of these converted Andalusions and Almoravids anywhere in the gallery. Where did you post them? Also, I always wondered why no set of Almohades was made. Did they look too much like the Almoravids to justify making a separate set?

Sorry Grumble! I put them on the unofficial Hat site about a week ago. Since I have yet to master the iPhone, the text and pictures are in two different posts. As to the Almohades, I think they were very similar to the Almoravids in style. At one point they were contemporaries, so I believe their dress and equipment would have been similar. Warmest regards from the Old North State, Ole Ben.

Come, Come now Ironsides, Do I detect a hint of dislike for Social Media? I cant blame you a bit. Those miniatures pages are one of the only reasons I still look at the blasted thing. I also promote my books on there. And the ma'amsahib puts pictures of the kiddos up. I will try to post my next go-round thru the Hat site.

Actually on that Unofficial HäT Industrie Group on Facebook there are around 800 members which is much more comparing to this Official HäT Toy Soldiers Forum.

And to make this post relevant my favourite set is the Almoravid Command 10 out of 10 from me.
