Dear Hat Team,
Can we expect in the near future (end this year or beginning of the next) the release of Russian infantry 1812 in scale 1/72?
Thank You!

I'm wth you two. They'd be a fine addition to other, recently released late Russians in this scale. Regards, James

Hopefully Hat will be us both Line and Guards versions of their sets. I would love the Guards to be identifiable by the (red) lapels of the 2nd Guards Division regiments, as I am sure my painting skills can break these guys down into the Litovski, Lifeguard Grenadiers, Pavlov (with the Mitres from the Italei set) and Guard Sapper Battalion.
Sadly in my younger days I had painted a battalion of the Preobrajenski but in my defense ESCI was the only game in town for plastic Napoleonic Russians... Now I try to "demote" them into the the two line regiments of the Prussian Army that came from the Russo-German Legion...

I hope these sets are going to be made soon and also the WW2 BEF infantry but some how I doubt it.

Be nice to see them produced....hopefully without the issues of recent.
Perhaps a set of light/Jagers to go with them too? Hat has the 1805 Russian line & light infantry in their catalogue already so makes it a more complete range to have 1812 onwards done also.

I agree. I have been waiting for these Russians since when they were announced on the site. The Italeri set mentioned earlier is quite suitable to convert to Jaeger adding green stuff to make their greatcoats and scabbards. Tedious work, but as long as nobody produces dedicated sets it will do.

I am looking forward to an 1812 set of Russian infantry that distinguishes between Grenadiers and Musketeers. The Musketeers have a grenade with a single, vertical flame, and a very short plume (almost a tuft), whereas the Grenadiers have their plume, yes, but have the grenade with three flames (left, right and up). The guards have an eagle medalion instead of the grenade.
Jagers and Musketeers in 1812 are basically distinguished by the color of the trousers--white for Musketeers and green for Jagers. AFAIK, there's no other difference.

In that case it might be better for the manufacturer to leave it blank so painters can paint on whatever device is needed.

I was thinking of the device on the front of the shako, but you're right, the cartridge box also is decorated.

So the same would apply for the shako and cartridge, maybe have the single flame and have painters paint on the side flames. They can do the bigger plume so people can whittle down to a tuft.
