Those are some great shots. I could spend days just identifying and enjoying each figure. Great work. Kudos and thanks.

Brilliant!! Thats all I can say really! Some brilliant conversions there too like the Guardsman bayonetting the unfortunate Prussian. Ive seen that pose before but i cant remember where? Think off top my head it was a Atlantic set. Some Airfix WW1 conversions caught my eye too!! Superb work and an inspiration to anyone who enjoys the hobby but sometimes suffers from "Painters block"!! Ive just had a bout due to having to do the 79th Highlanders tartan!!!! What a headache!!! Now wheres the paracetamol??!!!

Many thanks to all. There are quite a few mistakes to fix, and thousands more to follow.

Now wheres the paracetamol??!!! I've been in a painter's block the last year or so myself - partially due to my sons moving in and out between transfers, and some health issues. Now that you mention it my last project was a whole slew of Highland troops which in turn required me to re-organize and touch up ALL my Highlanders. Hundreds. After that, even moving to a simpler uniform like catching up on my Prussian Landwehr lost its luster. But I think it's high time I drag the gear out and get at it again.

My "blocks" tend to range from a week to a few months. Cant say ive gone a whole year (yet!), i think having other pastimes like horses and fishing has helped break up any monotony ive felt or "painters exhaustion"! But yes other facts of life also play their part in if a break happens.
Sometimes i find i actually paint a bit better after a break too. Less mistakes and seem to get a batch done a bit quicker.
But one things for sure examples of work like this above certainly keeps my interest alive!

Sometimes i find i actually paint a bit better after a break too. Less mistakes and seem to get a batch done a bit quicker. Haha, quite the opposite with me. If I don’t paint anything for a month I seem to forget how to do it properly. My dry brushing becomes blotchy and my highlighting gets ham-fisted. This sort of diorama is simply beautiful though. Would love to see it in real life.

This really is a labour of love and a joy to look at.
Napoleon would be proud that you have done his beloved guard justice! Everything i have seen is top notch work, you can imagine the sounds and smells when looking at the pictures, they tell a story. The 3 farms look amazing and portray exactly the kind of fighting that took place outside and within.
Love the squares in the "corn". Is that some sort of fur? Interesting idea that if is. It can be stood up or flattened down to look trampled.
This is worthy of being in a museum once completed and by that i mean a big museum like the Imperial War Museum or similar!

Superb work as always! A work of art & a labour of love.
Are you going to show all the main actions/events on your diorama at the same time? Or pick a specific singular time during the battle and represent it that way? For example are you going to have the Union Brigade charging D'Erlons 1st Corps while also showing Ney launching his cavalry attacks around the squares? Or are you going pick say 6PM and display the battle as to what was happening at that time?

Hi Roger, the Winchester diorama shows all the main events happening together which creates a somewhat confusing picture. My diorama shows the action between 1800-1900 hrs. This allows for an arc of action from Hougoumont, through the French cavalry attacks, to the battle for La Haie Sainte, to D'Erlon's pressure on the British centre-left, to Papelotte and down to Plancenoit. It is therefore the peak of the fighting but true for that given moment. There will be slightly over 100,000 figures on the diorama. There are about 50 people helping out so if anyone wants to get involved do please shout.
