A Roman Bireme warship with a crew of lighter armored troops for a fast and valiant boarding party that strikes hard but is weaker to heavy troops and large ballistics. Minis used: HAT Republican Romans Hastati & Velites, Orion Roman sailors (for a steersman) HAT Roman Missile troops (for the other steersman and leader), Stretlets Roman senator, Italeri Late Imperial Legion (for the archers) and Zvezda Roman Auxilliary (slinger)
Sorry I am not the best photographer!
Enjoy.
Here is where the lighting changes and can see it in a different way.

thank you all~~!
A little bonus, a ship that is "inspired" by ancient merchant craft, its something made from spare parts to be a transport ship.

Another two magnificent ancient ships. Beautifully constructed and painted models and the really well painted figures are perfect crew and/or defenders.

I’m working on a similar project for 1/32 scale figures using Playmobile Roman and Greek ships.

Playmobil is great for 1/32 scale. Especially the castles. They’re relatively cheap and readily available.
