Hello fellow plasticsoldiering enthusiats,
reflecting Hat's sucessfully completed crowdfunding project of Zulu Warriors from the beginning of this year, it came across to me that the number of figure designs and sets of "Victoria's Enemies" on the market are quite limited.
Though by issuing further figures from other geographic regions of her Majesty's Empire, one could diversify options of using, modelling as well as playing those excellent sets that are avaiable for British soldiers of this period of all kinds of the army's armed forces.
What I am thinking of, would be sets and scenarios as following:
1. Boers War 1880/1881 - to play Laing’s Nek and Majuba
- Mounted (though very similar to the existing Frontier Light Horse set)
- on foot (including procumpent poses ) 2. British Expedition to Egypt 1882 - to play Tel El Kebir and maybe Sudan campaign
- Arabi Pascha Infantry
- Arabi Pascha Artillery
- maybe Cavalry
3. 2nd Afghan War - to play Maiwand, Khandar and others
- Regular Afghan Infantry
- Regular Afghan Artillery
- Regular Afghan Cavalry
- maybe Afghan Tribes men on foot and mounted.
Though collectors of this period might get the advantage of saving efforts to build up figures for these scenarios and battles not by converting others, our friends at HAT Corp. would be able to sell a significant number of sets per product, due to the facts that these would be real innovations as well as a certain number of sets of each product should be purchased to create those clashes with her Majesty's soldiers.
What do you at the HAT community think of this suggestions?
Should HAT get into planning those Kinds of sets?
Looking Forward to your replies.

I want sets for the Indian states forces for the 19th century. The Sikh Khalsa was the largest native army in Asia.

I absolutely agree. All those suggestions are great.
Unfortunately the excellent Zulu War British Infantry are not on the restock list and the delays continue for General Service Wagons and Baggage Camels.

Franco-Prussian War Pommeranian Piccolo Players would be a great addition, I think. By then they had changed from the bi-corn/cocked hat they had worn for almost two hundred years to pickelhaube. They still retained their lederhosen though.

Especially if we get a "brothers war" set that included some of the minor German States uniforms during the 1866 war against Austria as well.

Another vote for Franco-Prussian War (or Austro-Prussian or German-Danish Wars or Hungarian Uprising or Italian unification, Carlists, Swiss... pretty much any European conflict of the 19th century - very colourful - barely touched - probably won't be... great shame)
