I've been working on my stash of late Napoleonic cavalry sets recently, creating table-top units for various armies in the 1813-15 period, and have 're-discovered' the very early HaT Uhlans and Dragoons sets. The historical accuracy of these sets, with troopers wearing the litewka coat, is still quite good. However, the sculpting and overall size of the figures and also the horses is somewhat poor, and I'm on the verge of consigning these to the 'retirement box' and going with some (extensive) conversions of other figures instead.
Given the excitement around a possible future set of Dutch and/or Belgian 1815 carabiniers on this site, I'm wondering whether there is an appetite for a generic set of late Napoleonic Prussian cavalry? By generic I mean: troopers wearing litewkas, shakos with covers, Prussian dragoon/uhlan horse furniture, optional arms (with either sabre or lance) to allow the set to be built as either dragoons or line uhlans, and some spare heads with British style stovepipe shakos to allow Landwehr cavalry also to be modelled from this set. The set would also feature one figure wearing the Kollet jacket, allowing an officer to be created.
With 12 or perhaps even 15 figures to a box, these would ideally be a similar size and style to the existing Prussian hussars set.

I would like to see HaT revisit some sets and offer newer versions such as HaT has been doing of older figures.

If HaT made such a set I would definately buy it. It would be good to get some new Dragoons and it makes sense to include optional arms with lances, although I do like the current Uhlans set. Stovepipe shakos are also a good idea.
But one thing I'd really like to see is a set of Prussian Uhlans wearing collets with spare heads in Prussian style czapkas. This would give us the regular Uhlan regiments and a bit of head swapping between the various sets would give us most of the Landwehr cavalry variations. Then we just need the aforementioned stovepipe shakos, the British style braided dolmans (HaT's new light dragoon set perhaps), and maybe a bell topped shako (but I can live without that).

This is an excellent idea and probably something we will be looking into.

This is an excellent idea and probably something we will be looking into. THAT is great news. I dare say that your Prussian Uhlans and Mamalukes will remain sentimental favorites (along with your Brunswick Avant Garde) as they are my first HaT sets. If I recall right, they came in the same box in the mail way back when.

Just because there is new box on the block doesn't mean that the old sets have to be replaced by them they could run side by side or have a classic range like Airfix do. you could even run the early Airfix Napoleonic & others if you still have the licence for them.

Yes, I agree with more Prussian cavalry especially the Landwehr ones. I would also like to see some Hannoverian units.
