I just received test sprues of the 7YW Austrian Grenadiers; they, too exceed expectations. I hope to post some pics soon. Been hectic around the house.

Thank you for the pictures. This ts very helpful.
The marching figures should be the same size since they are likely to be grouped together. The small one looks like he is smaller than the Prussians if you allow for the difference in bases. The sanding firing figure and the loading figure should also be compatible. The firing figure looks thinner and shorter.
It would be interesting to see the Prussians matched to the Advancing fellows.

Hi Rahway! What you say is correct! The firing figure is slightly thinner and shorter, but so are people right? ;-) I sadly don't have the advancing/action poses of the SYW Prussians (yet)! Otherwise I could have compared them indeed! Thank you for the pictures. This ts very helpful. The marching figures should be the same size since they are likely to be grouped together. Great! I wish I had those too! Haha ;-) Stan, I would have loved to have had some fusiliers myself - but when it came down to it I HAD to go for the Grenadiers. I imagine I'll be able to get all the fusiliers I want when the time comes anyway. Love these guys, they'll form up well. The pics tell me any difference in size or scale between Prussians and the Austrians is minimal and totally reasonable considering all folks don't come in the exact same size. I recall the old Marx ACW figures where several of their Confederates were thinner than their Union figures (there were a couple exceptions). I don't think it was until I grew up and read first-hand accounts about how lean and mean the "Rebs" looked (particularly in the East) as opposed to the better supplied Union Army of the Potomac that it made sense. I don't know if Louis intended it that way or not, but for me it was a stroke of genius. Many thanks to you, Stan - a picture is worth a thousand words and we know we have a pretty good match between the Austrians and Prussians. I add my kudos and thanks to Rahway.

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for your message! I am just excited and happy to share that excitement with you and others! Today I got my proto types of this set that I have painted about a year ago out of the storage and also while painting the new Musketeers I noticed many flaws. I believe this is mainly due to the fact that the prototypes were 3D printed and thus had many details, in the test shot figures many parts blend and dissolve in each other...The canteens are half there, one figure is almost 1:35 also his cartridge box etc are smaller and one has a flat arm and so on.. I think this is because the figures come from an injection mould, I just hope it is possible to fix it. I had contact with HaT and they will pass it on to the factory ;-) Really curious to see and hold the final figures in my hand!

Stan,
Thank you or clarifying that. I noticed areas of soft and indistinct detail in the additional photos that are on your blog but was not sure if it was the figures, the photos, or my computer.
The hats look too big for the little marcher and the firing guy.
Since this is the first set from Hat in a long time it should be done right, so your suggestions are valuable.

Dear Rahway, I compared them with my prototypes and your remarks are right..It is not your computer or my images..I have send images to HaT and they will mark work out of it ;-)

I don't know it is just me, posted images or depends on plastic used but for me on your comparison photos Prussians looks better and have better proportions. Anyway, when can we expect painted photos of this from you, Stan?

I mean that color of plastic used affects visibility of details on figures.

Yes their are quite some issues with these figures, also compared to the SYW Prussians or the Prototypes that I have received earlier. But I am confident they will be as great as the other sets by the time they are available!

I hope so too! And how is that possible to receive some prototypes from HaT?
