Dear all,
this is my first thread here, and I'd like to share with you some of my newly finished German East African troops.
Hope you like them.
Best regards, chen

They are absolutely grand Chen! Your texturing and highlighting has lifted the detail superbly. (Great lighting for your photography too).
I hope that this is the first of many postings from you.
Regards, James

That is a very high standard of painting indeed.
You have breathed life into them.
Best wishes,
Chris

Thanks for your nice comments, mates. I have to admit that after painting the result also surprised me, especially for the ruga-ruga who has a relatively 'simplistic' costume without too many attached items. But the sculpting has made the shading quite easy and creates enough variations of colors. So hat's off to our great Hat sculptors!
Cheers, chen

Gorgeous paint job! This WWI East German "trilogy" set is one of my favorites: a side show theatre but one that is H. Rider Haggard-ish or Wilbur Smith-ish. The figures may not be the most beautiful but they are full of character, almost like metal figures. And the make up and design of the sets are superb, each ready made for vignettes.

Ever since these great figures came out, I have been running games at HMGS conventions putting them to use. If all goes according to plan, there will be a battle at Historicon in July.
Worthy opponents include these HäT sets: British in khaki drill and pith helmets, WWI Indian Infantry, WWI British Heavy Weapons and WWI British Artillery Crew. For lack of KAR askaris, I have converted the German-led askaris that have pillbox hats for that purpose.
My figures, proud as I am of them, can't hold a candle to the beautiful work shown here!
