1.72 manufacturers, including Hat, are now providing Infantry in sets of marching/ advance / action poses which I welcome wholeheartedly. No-one, to my knowledge, however does the same with the Cavalry. Cavalry also stood around a lot on the battlefield before and after their CHARGE! and run away exploits (regroup). How about it Hat?

A great idea you could have sets with the horses stood, then another set walking Then at a canter, no need to provide a charging set as that's what most cavalry sets are already. You could pick some of the most popular sets like Scots greys & French cuirassiers to start with to see if sales make it a viable Project for other sets.

Good idea, btw I really miss the old days when all the big companies released lots of great cavalry sets. Though I doubt we will see this suggestion realized, perhaps cavalry sets don't sell as much as infantry?

There are fewer figures in cav sets, so less scope for options. The metal makers used to sell horses and riders separately, but then you have to decide whether the horse furniture is cast with the horse or with the rider, and each choice has its own problems.

Cavalry is not one of Hats strong points with normally just two horse poses and four troopers, sometimes one of which is an amputee to provide a little more choice. An example of a great cavalry set is the Zvedza Napoleonic Saxon Cuirassiers. That has three Standard sprues with four different troopers on each plus a Command sprue with an Officer, Musician, Standard Bearer and NCO. As I have stated before on this forum I think Hat should use their large sprue format shown with the Napoleonic Swedish Cavalry with room for nine men and horses but dedicated to just one type of cavalry. As an example for the SYW Austrian/Hungarian Hussars this could include specific figures of an Officer, Musician and NCO then six standard troopers, sold with two sprues per box.
Best regards,
Malcolm
