Here some pics of my latest project, the late Roman heavy infantry. I hope you like them. In the late Roman Empire the emphasis of the army was on the cavalry due to the large territory that stretched from Pannonia/Dacia in the north, Mesopotamia in the east, Britannia in the west and Aegyptus and Carthage in the south. To be able to fight the many incursions cavalry was vital, but infantry still played an important role as the core of the army. The infantry provided protection and refuge in many battles. Cavalry could recover and regroup behind the (heavy) infantry's shield wall.
