I will also post pictures of the 2nd Companion Cavalry unit. I date these two units from about 336 B.C. up to 260 B.C. according to their equipment and the colors I chose. The Companion Cavalry (Hetairoi) were the elite heavy cavalry of the Macedonian army from the time of Philip II and earlier, and gained their great fame during the campaigns of Alexander the Great. After the death of Alexander the Great they participated in the wars of succession and were historically referred to as Xystophoroi. They have been cited as the most reliable cavalry of the ancient world.
