There's a thread on this very subject on TMP's Napoleonic discussion page. It looks as though the URL has changed to mont-saint-jean.com/centjours/, but that the site is still up, which is an enormous relief...

That's strange the above link is not working for me but, this link is working centjours.mont-saint-jean.com/unites.php Well I 'am just pleased Alexis's wonderful website is still alive, I have some of my Crowdfunded Prussian Landwehr undercoated and it's time to decide which Prussian Landwehr regiment uniforms to paint.

I've already done the 5th Westphalian with the Airfix figures, and am thinking of painting up the Silesians with the HaT figures. Stephen Summerfield, who would know, disagrees with Alexis on the arrangement of the shoulder strap colours for Prussian landwehr regiments. Professor Google will explain further...

Stephen Summerfield, who would know, disagrees with Alexis on the arrangement of the shoulder strap colours for Prussian landwehr regiments. Professor Google will explain further... Alexis has gone for 1st battalion White, 2nd battalion Red, 3rd battalion Yellow across all the Landwehr regiments but, I would not be surprised if there are exceptions to the rule I have seen several varieties of cuff facings illustrated some shown as above, some with just a coloured line and some with no facing colour and some with pointed cuffs. I did try to find a copy of Stephen Summerfield's book Prussian Napoleonic Landwehr Infantry and Cavalry 1813-15 recently with no success can you tell us what he is suggesting?

I can't obtain a copy of that book either - I wish I had bought it when it first came out.
In a post on the Napoleon Series in 2011 Stephen suggested that the Berg, East Prussian, Kurmark, Neumark, and West Prussian LWIRs used colours to denote battalions within regiments, but that the Elbe, Pomeranian, Rhineland, Silesian and Westphalian LWIRs used colours to denote regiments. The sequence was the same: white, red, yellow and blue, and a repeating sequence for regiments numbered over 5.

I have now found some evidence to back up the shoulder straps sequence 1st White, 2nd Red, 3rd Yellow and 4th Blue the same Blue as the Coat and then 5th White again and so on. Stephen Summerfield book does look excellent every page seems to have illustrations and that must be why the book is £39.50. at 0:40 Seconds
