I suppose once plastic moulds get a bit long in the tooth figures inevitably get that a line of plastic 'flash' seeping out at the point where the two halves of the mould meet. And then there are the less well designed figs (... ahem...) or overly ambitious poses where you get extra globs of plastic clogging up places where there should be only fresh air.... The top of the backpack seems a favourite location for this - just where the rolled-up cloak meets the neck.
So, once I've scraped off the flash with a sharp blade and dug out the excess plastic from behind the figures neck and underarms, I'm left with a rough, pitted surface with the texture of straw.
Now, how do you folks go about removing this? I've tried painting with a coat of polystyrene cement but this doesn't seem to do a great deal.
