I have been collecting 1/72 plastics since 1970, and a recent trawl through my collection - which now numbers many 10s of thousands - reminds me of the impact and influence that HaT have had on the hobby.
I still very clearly recall the day when I first came across HaT products, in a small model shop in the south of England. Having gone in with a 'shopping list' of Italeri/Airfix items, I came across a new manufacturer in the shop's stock who was creating and selling figures that I had wished existed but didn't ie: French infantry in greatcoats, Prussian and Russian artillery, Russian Cossacks, Prussian landwehr cavalry etc. To a collector who had had to make do with the limited offerings of Airfix and early Italeri Napoleonics, this was a revelation, to say the least.
And at great value for money as well...
Many years on, we now have a vastly increased range of HaT figures, ranging in quality from the superb to the mediocre, but nonetheless a vast range, and something to be very grateful for. During the same 20 years or so, other manufacturers have also added to the range of figures available to us collectors.modellers and wargamers. What is available now is simply amazing.
So.....,it's a big thank you from me.
Let's hope that HaT are still here, producing quality sets at good value for the next 20 years plus.
Next releases look like being French Napoleonics…..Great figures from the previews. Let's hope for a really great price too. Value for money for us long term collectors.

The 1/72 plastic figure scene was virtually dead before HaT entered the scene with their 2 Prussian sets. The releases came at a flood for many years & although the flood is now a trickle, much of my collection is of HaT figures.
Personal preference being what it is, I hope I don't attract too much criticism when I say I largely prefer HaT figures over the "opposition". For example, Zvesda are great figures but often too energetic to make good wargames units. Between other plastics & various metals, there's not many (any?) manufacturers I don't have but HaT are always the standard the others need to match.
Where I am in the hobby today is largely because of HaT.

HaT has been nothing short of a revolution in 1/72nd plastics.
Keep up the good work.
