1/72 Belchite Battle, Spanish Civil War (Part 3/3) Hi: I send you my new work about Belchite battle, during Spanish Civil War, August 1937, Aragon front... The miniatures are conversions, some are from small size "momtaplex", many of them are from Hat industrie too. You can see my version of "San Martin de Tours" church with paper model: inside, the nationalist officers briefing, the senior officer with moustache and falangist blue-sirt was "comandante" Santa Pau, Belchite's resistance soul... The alone Italian air-plane was made from a toy surprise egg... Cheers Saludo a todos. Juan Carlos Pascual From Spain Many thanks to Mr. Juan Carlos Pascual.

Funny thing, when I saw Franscisco's figures and backgrounds in his Mameluk and retreat from Moskow scenes yesterday I was reminded of Juan Carlos's posts. I used to love seeing his work, his use of oil paints was chalenging at first (no, I don't mean enamels, artists oils) but once I got used to that his figures had a real individual charm. Aside from the figures his presentation of 3D comic books was very creative, His blending of highly detailed 3D models and Impressionistic painted backgrounds was very artistic, he had a real gift for spotting the conversion potential in a figure and a good eye for composition; great modeler, great graphic artist, and he pushed boundaries, always some new technique he was experrimenting with. Also his scenes didn't stand still, always moving through time like the air attack on the artillery above. It's good to see this again.

On first impression bonkers.
However there is a lot of creativity on display here and the overall effect is very engaging.
Well done.
