Helmets - it's just more iconic...

I prefer the look of Austrians in helmets more than shakos.

Yes yes yes! I have lots of Austrians by Italeri with Helmets...I still prefer them..But separate shako's would be great. If that is not an option I fully understand! So I gave my vote for helmets!
Cheers to HaT, Hurrah!

Shakos. Like doing 1813 battles. Have 1,000+ 1/32 Napoleonics. 600 of them are HaT. 700 when the Austrians come out.

Hello The most would be interchangeable head or only the hat, I think more selling in the end

Shakos please for use in the post 1812 campaigns. This way I would need to start from scratch for an army of the later Napoleonic Austrians, and HaT would not only be providing a real service, but make far more sales as would need to but sets by the dozen!

I've been patiently waiting for ANY HAT Napoleonic Austrians. We need both helmets and shakos. Personally I think the helmets are more unique, but I feel the shakos are more helpful. So I have to vote for the shako hat with oak leaf. The helmeted fusiliers are great for Austerlitz/Ulm campaign. Wagram in 1809 might be as far as the helmeted Austrians go for line infantry. The shako Austrians would be great for Leipzig and the 1814 campaigns.
Count me in for multiple sets of either, but a choice in head wear like the 7 Years War Prussians would most likely increase sales the most.

One thing I forgot to mention... Please cast them in white. Color is important to those of us who don't paint our figures.

Since no one ever produced Austrians in shakos its good option for HaT to release them I think. Austrians in helmets from Italeri are now out of stock too. So the best from my point of view will be:
- Austrian Fusiliers set with helmets and separate shakos (like in 7YW Prussians set). - Austrian/Hungarian set of Grenadiers with bearskins and separate backpacks and short swords. - Command set for both of the above, 6 figures per sprue with 3 for Fusiliers and 3 for Grenadiers.
Its the best option to fill the gaps with Austrians availability on the market. Combining this 3 sets you can make:
- Austrian Fusiliers in helmets - Austrian Fusiliers in shakos - Austrian Grenadiers - Hungarian Fusiliers in helmets - Hungarian Fusiliers in shakos - Hungarian Grenadiers

The one shortcoming I see is that you would have to “paint convert” into Hungarian line (as the pants are not the same as German line infantry). Not a huge deal for me personally.
