Dear HAT
In reference to Napoleonic sprue configuration for figures in an Action set:
Austrian Infantry Action set:
I understand the 2 standing at attention figures are included on the sprue as they best fit the space available on the sprue.
As a request can HAT if possible kindly replace
A. one of the Advancing levelled musket figures (1st figure on the red sprue)
and
B. one of the reloading figures and one of the firing figures
Replacing the figures mentioned in A & B with the Advancing figure holding the musket slightly raised/angled (3rd figure on the red sprue).
Lets say the Austrian Action set has 4 sprues in the box. For my request/proposal each single sprue will have the following figures:
2 x Standing at attention (included due space restriction)
2 x Loading
2 x Firing
1 x Advancing levelled musket
5 x Advancing slightly raised/angled musket
With 4 sprues in the box there would be
8 x Standing at attention figures
8 x Firing figures
8 x Reloading figures
The above figure amount would obviously be raised further in number/quantity if individuals are interested in buying several sets.
As a general example just 2 boxes will provide a unit of 32 Firing & Reloading figures , 16 figures of each type (this does not include unit command figures that one would add).
As for the advancing figures, the box will include:
4 x Advancing levelled musket
20 x Advancing slightly raised/angled musket
I only use advancing levelled musket figures right at the front of my unit formations and do not position any behind of this same type of figure. Therefore fewer are required. However advancing figures with raised/angled muskets are always required in good numbers by me, positioning this type of figure behind the frontline of the unit formation. The frontline which may include the advancing levelled musket figures and command figures.
(Please note my unit set up in this instance is only my preference of how I wish to portray a particular formation - not leaning rigidly towards historical setup).
Just 2 boxes of figures would provide a good sized unit setup for Firing & Reloading formation and for Advancing figure formation.
I my humble opinion my sprue configuration proposal may provide a more balanced approach for unit formation set up. Perhaps also reducing the number of figures that may not be used by individuals (fewer figures leftover).
As expressed earlier just 2 boxes would enable to provide the flexibility of choice of making 2 different types of unit set up. This will hopefully serve the interest of individuals who like Firing & Reloading figures/units and individuals who prefer advancing figures/units, perhaps even both types.
I would be grateful if HAT would kindly consider my sprue configuration proposal for the upcoming Austrian Infantry Action set.
Future Napoleonic Action sets
If my request for sprue configuration cannot be achieved for the Austrian Infantry Action set, please kindly take my recommendation into consideration for future Napoleonic Action sets:
Hungarians
Russians
Future sets on the drawing board or in the thoughts, hopes and wishes of individuals (& mind's eye).
After the Austrians and Hungarians have entered the retail domain (shops)
Please introduce Alexanders Russians this year.
'the road has been long with many an unwinding turn' (wink)
Thankyou HAT for reading my post
Best regards
