I send you some pics of my Hypaspists set I recently finished. Alexander III of Macedon took 3 battalions of Hypaspists with him when he invaded the Achaemenid empire. The Hypaspists or Shield bearers (also known as Silver shields) were an elite unit of medium heavy infantry. They were better and harder trained then the Phalanx troops and fought in all Alexander's major battles. They were usually positioned on the vulnerable flanks of the phalanxes because of there speed and agility. But they were also able to fight against troops or resistance forces in mountainous terrain during Alexander's Bactrian campaign.
