I've been thinking...... Although it would be nice if HaT would complete their existing Austrian & Prussian SYW ranges, it also might be nice if they embarked upon a Russian army.
To avoid being part of a generic mix'n'match sets of figures, the Russians could be made at their most distinctive: the summer uniform, where units divested themselves of their heavy, turnbacked coats & wore their collarless, long sleeved waistcoats. This applies to infantry, artillery, dragoons & cuirassiers (though maybe these could retain the coat as they then would be useful for the Austrians as well.) To round the period off, a fur capped hussar set would cover the key 4-5 regiments. Artillery pieces could also be the distinctive "secret howitzers" & licornes. There are issues to think about eg the mitre. This was worn by the Horse Grenadier regiments as well as grenadier infantry. The infantry versions can be distinctive, especially the 1756 version with the "neck protector". This, very Russian version mitre is the one I'd go for. The HG regiments were quite numerous in the Russian army BTW & have not been covered by anyone else. Cossacks....I guess you might use existing sets. Light infantry (Pandurs) etc might be eventually considered. I think there's an opportunity here, especially if they got in before their figure-making rivals. donald

I'd say a definite 'Yes' to any new Seven Years War sets.
From the point of view of HaT - and as raised by your good self before, donald - I'd say that 'generic' Cuirassier and Dragoon sets to complement the Prussian and Austrian infantry would be the most useful 'next' SYW sets. Then, the long awaited Prussian artillery set.
The Russian army in the SYW period is certainly distinctive and unique, but more specialised. Completing the range for the Prussians and Austrians, with suitable line cavalry sets and artillery, might prove to be more commercially attractive for HaT at present? The Russians then after that?

As great as it would be, I think this is wishful thinking. IF Hat were to continue their SYW range, you'd assume they'd try and complete the armies already started-Prussians and Austrians.

It probably is wishful thinking and I would not be sad to see a completion of the Prussian & Austrian lines. Quite the opposite.
I do think *any* SYW sets would be winners. British. French. And how about 2-3 boxes devoted to the F&IW?
