I hope that sometime in the future HaT will offer improved artillery sets for Prussia and Russia. The figures are very poor compared to their newer releases. Also the guns in the two sets are not very well presented. It is also hoped that HaT will go into making a French post 1806 Artillery set with crew and guns. That would be a great match for the superb
sets of Limbers. I know alot of folks would gladly retire their older Hat guns and gunners for newer and more detailed guns and crews. HaT is releasing some wonderfully detailed sets of figures and accessories. To redo these sets and offer new ones would, I think, be wildly welcome. Although other companies offer (in limited quantity) artillery for France and Russia I think Hat should step up to this.

I agree, though rather than retiring the existing sets it would be great if the Prussians and Russians were done as horse artillery, which hasn't been done in 1/72 plastic for these nations.

I think there scope for most of current artillery to be updated & even new Napoleonic artillery that's not been modelled before like Brunswick & Polish artillery. The British horse artillery could do with updating as the best set is the old airfix set & how old is that.

The old Revell British Foot Artillery is really hard to find nowadays. Would be nice if Haet made a set with the gun and crews and another set of the limbers, draft horses and riders.
Jordan.
(The A Call Too Arms set is really expensive for what you get...)

Agreed. I just made the same suggestion in a different thread. Well made cannon would be grabbed up like easter eggs.

Id still prefer crew with the guns but yes better guns like those in the 1805 French, 1806 Prussians and Swedish sets would be great. They were far superior to the earlier guns.

Are the Italieri British Artillery any good? The guns are ok but the crew themselves are incorrect. The tunics have tails when they should actually be more like a hussar dolman...no tails. To this day, the old Airfix set of British Royal Horse Artillery is the most comprehensive set representing these guys in plastic. So better to search for this set. Comes up reasonably often on ebay.

I ask because well-meaning friends gave me two sets of these, and I have no use for them. But maybe no one else does, either.

Try popping them on ebay. If you sell both in a manner that makes them cheaper than the retail price, im sure somebody would buy them. They are the only currently made set to represent this unit, uniform errors aside. So somebody might like a bargain.
The Airfix set although the better version, is no longer made unfortunately and that generally means ebay auctions where the price can fluctuate from being a bargain, to being over the top!!
