Many thanks Richard. I think I have found some Zulus gone to ground in Massachusetts so hopefully they will be arriving in the next few days. Good to know about Kingkit, though - it didn't come up on any of my Internet searches but I now have another place to go shopping!

Zulus

I have shamefully been away from the Forum for too long, so apologies if this is a stupid question or has been asked already. (I did have a look, honest!) Are the Zulus (both Married and Unmarried) going to be included on a re-issue in 2020? I know they werenโt on the list for autumn 2019. Many thanks in advance.

My wagons have just been delivered. When I opened the package, I think I had the same look of delight on my face as Jack Hawkins does in 'Zulu'...you know that moment - just before they start tipping the wagons on their sides! Nice models HaT - they have been a long time coming but they do look good! Thank you.

Many thanks, Graeme. I will try the hot, cold and inside cut method! (Poor Zulus - what they have to go through!) Quote from Graeme: After I read Alan's post I noticed the same thing happening to the figures that I tried bending. But I had another go with the same figures. Dipping them in a cup of very hot water, just boiled from the kettle, bending them into shape and setting under the cold tap. Then I chucked them in the freezer for a minute or two (I wouldn't want to leave them in more than a minute or two). On the first figure the shield arm returned half way to where it was then stopped (still looks better), the others stayed pretty much where I put them. It's been a couple of weeks and the arms are still bent, there may have been a little bit of movement to begin with and I can't be sure that they are not gradually moving at a speed slower than fingernails grow but I think I'll be bending these with the hot and cold method and then backing up by using an exacto knife to slice part way through the plastic on the outside of the bend and filling the gap. the other option is to cut a wedge from the inside of the bend and glue the edges together. I think it's worth persisting with these because they look fantastic when the shields and, perhaps, spears have been bent a little. Speaking of filling gaps, i've been using that glue that hardens under UV light as a filler. $14 from the post office and I think it's great. Paintable too but do prime it before painting or your matt paint will have shiny patches.

The plastic used with these guys is very hot water/ cold water friendly , so although they are moulded with shields to the side, this was the only way to get them in the mould in one piece , they can be bent to the correct position for hand to hand combat. Spoke to soon, overnight they have returned to their original shape ie as per mould, hay ho try again. Question for Mr Buckingham: did you have any luck getting those arms to bend permanently into a better fighting position? Thank you for any advice on that one!

I know his thread is kind of winding down, but I have just had a few hundred Unmarried Zulus arrive and they do look very good. Looking forward to painting them later in the year. Nice work. Thank you HaT.

These wagons look really good. The Colonial Fans have been waiting for their arrival since June 2011........does this teaser mean we might see them adorning our battle table tops by this time next year? Or sooner?! Trying hard not to sound too needy!! Thank you for the update.

I would suggest the set that has already been sculpted be produced as they are. HaT has already produced Austrian Infantry wearing shakos and I have been able to paint them as both German and Hungarians. The Grenadiers have also been produced, so no real need to take up valuable sprue space with a supply of different heads. Obviously, if it makes them easier to produce, then separate back packs would be fine - that has worked perfectly well before. Whilst the helmeted Austrians have already been produced by another company, the masters for this set that have been on show and teasing us for quite some time now already look fantastic and I will be buying some to compliment my existing Austrian Army. In my opinion, this set does not require any work / format tweaking that may further delay their production (keeping in mind scaling so they compliment the previously produced sets) I am not getting any younger, so please get these out and onto the battlefield. Thank you again for soliciting our varied opinions, HaT. PRJA

I think it is time to complete the Colonial period. Please get the wagons rolling - there are now more than enough figures to do Isandlwana etc, but the period is seriously lacking the correct looking wagons. I know other periods have also been waiting a long time for sets to be produced (in the case of the Colonial Wagons, it has been over 6 years) but there are only three sets in this period left to complete the whole range available..........Colonial Wagons please! Thank you for asking us HaT.
