Firstly it's wonderful to here from Hat again and any news update is greatly appreciated especially in these difficult times with many people stuck at home going stir crazy. Now onto the figure there is lots to like here proportions, sculpting, lace knots, pointed cuffs, Shako with oak field sign and most of the uniform all look very good. The things that need changing the pantaloons should only have embroidered stripes on the outside of legs and should be tucked into Hungarian ankle boots, I would also move the knapsack, cartridge box and water bottle up a little as they all seem to be hanging low. Thanks Hat for the great start and the opportunity to change things at this stage.

I agree with Brian the pack and equipment need to be raised. Looking at the side views of the figure, the cross belts look like they are attached to the bottom of the pack which is incorrect; the cross belts only held the cartridge box, water bottle bayonet scabbard ,etc.
With the shoulder straps holding the pack the lower end of the strap, which should attach to the bottom of the pack, looks like it's attached to the top of the pack. The upper part of the strap, which should attach to the top of the pack, looks like it's attached to the greatcoat/ blanket roll. And the cartridge box and other equipment must be levitating because they are not in contact with their cross belts. Raising the pack and equipment a bit will, I think, see all of the straps line up correctly.
My first thought was that the front peak on the shako looked very long, but looking at some pictures online did show some really quite large looking peaks; was this a standard thing?
Generally speaking, the figure looks terrific!

Good catch on the leg stripes, yes, should only be on outside.
Hat has molded them as buttons, to my eye, but that may make them easier to paint in 1/72.
As for the ankle boots and being tucked inside or out, I don't expect that to show much, in 1/72.
In any case, I want a bunch!

Again, I think the three-foot rule should rule... 😉

Greetings! - The pants cuffs have been fixed, thanks! - The "buttons" are stitchings in real life, however the buttons on the tiny figures may help them stand out in 1/72 as an exaggeration and provide some bas relief for painters and non-painters alike. The inside buttons will be removed. - The backpacks may or may not be detachable at this point which may solve the question of the backpack straps. Based on the questions on the Nap. Austrian backpacks last time, there was an issue of an attached and high-up backpack not coming out of the mold and actuality of backpacks sliding down during the march. - As always thanks for your participation, it is much appreciated!

They look to be a superb set. Now, my old paint converts can be reverted to their original intent through a dab of paint and increase my "German" regiments. 'Looking forward to this set.

I am always. A fan of detachable packs if possible. It makes the area around the greatcoat roll and neck/collar much better

Hi, Please leave the backpacks attached as it is a nightmare to glue them. Besides it should simplify the mould and so the production and so the delivery. Ultimately all armies were wearing them all the time so no real points to detached them. Kind regards. CPN

For myself, I agree.
I don't want to glue, cut or melt figures, I just want to paint and play. Perhaps it's my age, but I don't have the patience for more than painting. Back in the day, I remember cutting apart and gluing together various Airfix figures to make up what was missing. These days, not so much.

Another vote for backpacks to be left attached makes painting easier.

I'm with you Steve, plus the detachable ones leave a gap between man and pack. There are really impressive scans too, lovely detail.

SOOO happy to see this set moving forward (with hopes to see it in 1/32 eventually). Hat’s products are of such unique quality and breadth; anticipation of these sets will be killing me!
My feedback on the figures (beyond agreement with other comments made);
1. The front of the jackets seem a little short & the height of the pants on the torso rather high. I assume this is done to make the trouser braids more visible, but It makes the figures look less realistic.
2. Backpacks do seem low. While I would prefer backpacks be molded on, if this causes the packs to be this low, or otherwise compromise the figures too much, then separate backpacks would be preferred.
2a. IF you go with separate backpacks PLEASE; do not include the cartridge box on the backpack (mold it on the figure) and
2b. Please construct the connection between backpack & figure the same as you did with the 1/32 Bavarians (NOT like the French light infantry sets, which don’t fit well, and certainly NOT like the French in Greatcoats or Wurttembergers musketeers or Grenadiers, which were murder on my fingers).
Thank you!

I'm sorry to those people who like detachable packs but I really must add my voice to the growing clamour against them - please HaT - nothing to stick on!

Interested only in 1/32 version and prefer detachable backpacks as it helps to avoid unwanted plastic in some places due to moulds restrictions (e.g. Italeri 1/32 figures).
