They could bear being a tad smaller, but they will never match the heft of the Revell figures because the Hat ones are simply better proportioned.
They are seductively stunning. I know that sounds geekily sad, but they are gorgeous. Will buy.
Will buy as Austrians, but I will also be looking at conversion possibilities and Imaginations.
Well done, HaT

Shako option for the Heavies?
I will use the Lights with a variety of heads as conversions (as well as intended), but I am not sure what particular alternative headgear, if any, would be suitable for the ostensible subject.

Just noticed the Crowdfunding for Nap. British Light and Heavy Dragoons has just reached Stage 7. I had almost given up it seemed to be stuck on Stage 5 for ages hopefully Hat have learned a lot from the Prussian Landwehr and Zulu Crowdfundings and with a little bit more support it might actually make it, come on people dig deep and lend some support you know you want to. and remember Every Little Helps!
Good news! Thanks for pointing this out.
Dig deep indeed.

I can not understand why this croud funding project is not progreesing faster. When Hat released their Penninsular War British Infantry I got a renewed surge of excitement for the Napoleonic Wars. When this set was then expanded by the release of the excellent British Command, things were looking really good with the Heavy and Light Dragoons on the horizon. You can imagine how my enthusiasm was dashed when the product that hit the street was in 1/56th scale (28mm). I hoped that at least sales of these figures to the 28mm collectors would be high enough to warrant their rescaling to 24mm. The Napoleonic collectors seem to be asking for Russians and Austrians at this moment. I can not understand why the conflict in Spain should be overlooked when Hat have already released some excellent Spanish Infantry and Guerrillas and Emhar supply French, British, Spanish and Portugese Infantry. Personally speaking, I bought the Airfix Waterloo Farmhouse set not only for the building but mainly for the British Hussars and the Royal Horse Artillery. I have ordered enough Light Dragoons to not only cover their role but to also produce Mounted Rocketeers to go with the Hat set of British Rockets. I also have a set left over to convert to Tarleton´s British Legion for the American War of Independence. So all in all a very good cost effective set to have since it can be easily converted into three subjects. Now come on you Napoleonic Buffs, don´t let the chance pass to really round out the British Army for this mid-Napoleonic conflict, make Napoleon really regret his "Spanish Ulcer" and make these sets a reality. Best regards, Malcolm I agree!
HaT has really opened up the Peninsular. British cavalry is one of the relatively few major troop times left unrepresentative,
These are also very adaptable figures, with many other uses.
Despite Wellington's frustrations, the British and KGL cavalry consistently out-performed the much vaunted arme blanche of France throughout the Peninsular. They deserve to be on our tables.

I am a very happy Bunny.
I elected to order 10 marching sets. Now I have ordered 2 action sets from a retailer, too.
Crowd funded Landwehr cavalry next?

Now received.
I don't know how the guy from UPS got through - snow gates closed up the road, post didn't get through and the school stood the kids down (they never do that, unlike most schools)- but well done him!
Thanks to HaT for making good on the first thing I've helped crowd-fund.
Roll on the Peninsular Dragoons.

No sign of mine (in the UK)
But we're snowed in now!
I nave sent Admin another message today. It seems I need to check via the HaT website, but I no longer see a link to a page concerning crowd-funded Landwehr. Can Admin or any community member please help.
Thank you.

I do not think you can criticize Hat's track record when it comes to price they have been consistently one of the cheapest manufacturer of figures ever since they first appeared and continue to hold down prices when other companies have not. Currently in the UK Hat have approximately 4 price ranges £4.50, £5.25, £6.25 and £8.99, if they were to price 24 figures at £4.50 that works out at about 0.19 pence per figure which I think is still good value, especially if you take into account all the spare heads, separate knapsacks and arms and weapons you might also have in a box, 24 figures at £5.25 is 0.22 pence per figure that would be just about acceptable, any higher than this would probably start to effect sales I would probably have to reconsider my decision to retire some of those old Italeri, Airfix and Esci figures if that was to happen. So lets wait and see how Hat price these figures for me the cheaper they are the more I will buy and finally I can retire those old Italeri, Airfix and Esci figures.
A sensible point, the point, if I may say so.
I don't much mind now many there are in a box. It is the per figure price that counts. If the per figure price is reasonable, I'll just buy more boxes!
So, if we assume your £4.50 price tag, how does the resultant 19p per figure stack up in value terms with other 'marching sets'?
- HaT Marching Napoleonic Prussians gave us 40 figures (soft plastic), last retailed in the UK for £5.25 per box, i.e. 13p per figure.
- HaT (hard plastic) British Infantry, Highland Infantry and Duchy of Warsaw Infantry at £7.99 for 44 figures, i.e. 18p per figure.
- HaT SYW Prussians, which accommodate alternative head-gear. 40 per box at £6.25, i.e. 15p per figure.
At 15p per figure, the new HaT early French marching set would be £3.60 a box. If the price were pegged against the most expensive per figure Napoleonic sets, those from HaT, the cost would rise to £4.32 per box.
At 19p per figure, these new figures would not only be more expensive than the main rival in this area, HaT, but very significantly more expensive than their own nearest equivalent sets.
While I recognise that the alternative heads represents additional costs, if this makes the per-figure costs too high, and out of synch with other sets on the market, it will affect sales.
Personally, I think HaT should charge no more than £4.25, or 17p per figure, but I fear I may be disappointed here!
Now, why does the Command box art show the Bardin Uniform?
That's just naughty!

Progress is a little on the slow side still on stage 4 which was reached after 30 days, we are now on day 35 so I hope there is update coming soon, in comparison the Prussian Landwehr was at stage 6 after 12 days, 7 after 18 days, 8 after 46 days before slowing to a crawl to get over the line, I am not sure how the Zulu Crowdfunding progressed I think from memory it was a little slower than the Prussians to start but made steady progress and picked up a quite quickly at the finish. The British Light and Heavy Dragoons Crowdfunding sets are cheaper than the Prussian's and Zulu's I know they have fewer figures but also might be due to a more efficient process of making the figures lets hope this continues on future Crowdfundings and the Dollar has certainly dropped in value when I was buying the Prussian's last year the dollar was at an all time high. If you are still deciding whether to participate in the of Crowdfunding British Light and Heavy Dragoons or your considering increasing your order which is quite easy to do and will make each set a little cheaper now would be a good time to do it. Every Little Helps!
Agree. If we sit on the fence expecting everyone else to fund this, it won't happen.

buongiorno, concordo, manca un buon comando francese 1815. ed anche un bel set fanteria leggera e linea hannover visto che erano presenti ad haye sainte grazie
The King's German Legion and Hanoverian light battalions, mainly armed with muskets, would make a great set, but I do not see this as a likely release. There are enough French light battalions in proportion to line to justify a release, but, yes, I agree with you and the others who repeat that the most important missing set is French 1813-15 Infantry command.

My twopenneth.
As someone interested in the Eighteenth Century, if there is an AWI range, I will collect it, even if I would prefer SYW.
And why not? It is not on the scale of continental European wars of the period, so not hard to build up the forces necessary.
I wouldn't expect it to be released at once, but I'd want to know that a range is planned, so that, if I start collecting, there will be both British and Americans, and cavalry and artillery. If that takes 2-3 years to roll out, that's fine, so long as it does appear.
The MAC format is essential for musket era, IMHO, so that would also be a determining factor.

Vignette:
If more than one bonus figure, good that they are complementary subjects, e.g. General Officer and ADC/Staff Officer
Given that, they may as well be posed to make interaction look likely, but it would be good if they also worked as stand-alone poses!

(1) A mounted cavalry brigade commander, suitable for the Peninsular period. Suggest general officer's uniform (not full dress) (2) A mounted ADC suitable for the Peninsular period, who might be in regimental uniform, but doing some ADCy thing, rather than waving a sword around.

I note that bonus figures are intended ... but no call for suggestions as yet.
I will, therefore, open the batting by suggesting:
1 Peninsular Cavalry Brigade Commander (mounted); and, 1 Peninsular ADC (mounted)

With a Hungarian set for the future.

To be quite frank, I could have done without the expenditure, especially as I am bracing myself for the release of 3 key French infantry sets, required in numbers, and which need to be purchased before they disappear, not to be restocked for 5 years!
But, sometimes a Wargamer's got to do what a Wargamer's got to do!
Delighted to see some progress on the crowd-funding bar. Not that people should feel dragooned into spending their money, but the more people who commit in advance, the less the project is left to chance: HaT Site Dragoons Page
So, my question to HaT is whether, as an additional incentive, bonus figures could be offered to subscribers?
Could we, for instance, suggest two mounted figures that could complement these sets?

I disagree. Given modern standards of sculpting, and levels of detail, definition and accuracy, I think some of those treatments we got away with in the '70s and '80s on less sophisticated figures may not cut the mustard. There is, for example, a great difference on a properly sculpted figure between short gaiters and Hungarian trousers.
I think the subject warrants both types to be made.
