Very nice painting! A good army. I wondered were you get the material for the Sarissas? I still have to paint my Phalangites but don t know where to get the sarissas from.. Kind regards, Manovski productions I use bristles from a broom, about 7-8 cm in length, and then use plier to flatten the top and then cut it to create the spear tip. Also I recommend using a glue gun when attaching the spear to the figure.

Hum, not enough Ancients in the last suggestions. We NEVER have enough Ancients Exactly, hope the elephant sets gets made. We could use better ancient Indian infantry and cavalry too.

Aren't Vietnam really missing some sets in 1/72? We need a true VC set with the rice hats, late war NVA with DDR helmets. The old Esci set is lacking in that regard. Also a South Vietnamese set, special forces and so on. Can't Believe there are only two or Three decent sets for this period.

I wonder if anyone would be interested in WW 2 RAF and other nations ground crews, I was thinking of the old Airfix sets for ideas WWII crew set is good idea but I'd love a WWI ground crew set, it hasn't been done yet. Both German, French and Brit/US, and specialty figures like Richthofen but in this scale maybe it won't matter...

No question about it, two sets and blanket rolls on most Confederate figures.

I agree with Alan, if they are released they'll be the best ACW figures ever released in this scale. Just wish we didn't have to wait so long, I guess we're talking about sometime in 2019 for these..

I work in NYC and have visited all three of these shops on many occasions. Jesse's advice is pretty spot-on. A normal-sized box of 1/72 figs will run between $9-15. Red Caboose has the biggest selection by far and is tucked away in a basement in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Well worth the visit. Rudy's is also worth the trip out to Queens but he's only open later in the week, so check his hours on line. Mostly Italeri and Revell last time I was out there, not much in the way of HaT. Tanks and AFVs galore though. Jan's is up in the 90's on the East Side. Last time I was there (October-ish) the 1/72 figs selection had dropped off substantially. They used to stock all manufacturers, so maybe I just hit them at a bad time. Paints and models in abundance too. Bring cash to Jan's, or face the wrath of the old lady at the register. If you're like me, then the hunt is half the fun in this hobby and you'll visit all three. Thank you both, I hope to visit all of them, they seem stocked with interesting stuff! On the other hand, I pretty much know what I want, and most can be bought online so we'll see.

Are there any good stores in NY especially near Queens that sell our beloved 1/72 soldiers? Or is this a primarily European hobby? Any brands like HaT cheaper over there? I looked at some shops online in Queens but seemed to focus mostly on airplanes and RC.

A question for Admin, why isn't the Phyrric Elephants set 8321 listed, is it ruled out entirely for production? I know I voted for ACW but I have an ancient urge too and would want both the Sassanid Elephant and Phyrric because they looked great.
So in this order for me:
1.ACW Marching and Command 2. Phyrric and Sassanid elephants.
I want to use them for many other sides, and I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting these beasts!

i don't think Hät should produce figures in competitive scales like 1/56 or 1/32, focus on 1/72, why make figures that will detract from your main source of income?

I'm dying for new AWI sets so a 10 for me, and would buy many of them, and want them to be released all at once as soon as possible.

They look great but..was anything decided about the size? If they are gonna be 26-27cm, you have a problem. I think the reason 7YW never took off is because of the (giant) sizes of the Revell, Zvezdas and HaT's sets, I collect 1/72 figures, if they are over 24 cm then I'm not interested, but I can understand if people want to match these new figures with the old giants. According to previous replies, the size should match that of Revell 7YW Austrians. Well that settles it then, according to PSR they are 24 mm, count me in!

Light Dragoons should match Italeri's Light Cavalry Set 6044.

Well it seems the individual figure is leading, only 11 votes cast but..I sort of agree with argument, I want vignette type of poses that can be put into battle scenes without it being too obvious this is vignette from set xxxxx, but I think the vignettes should have sets on their own, such as "Gettysburg fieldhospital" or "Napoleonic fieldhospital" but those kind of sets is not what HäT does usually. If all sets are i the MAC format we will have robot like scenes with marching clones, we still need the old mix format but maybe with more vignette style poses, just my 2 cents.

I think certain vignette types are better than others, for example a group of soldiers surrendering can be duplicated endlessly, with minor conversion work, while a group of figures in a specific pose, personalities and such may not be suitable to be reproduced in large numbers. Stretcher bearers can also be used in large quantities, I don't mind seeing scenes such like that in many dioramas or that we all use the same type of vignette if the scenes are realistic.
